The project will begin on Fourth Street near Chestnut and follow Fourth Street to Castle Hayne Road to Division Drive terminating at the County Maintenance complex. The aerial cable will be supported by the existing CPSI, and BellSouth utility poles along the route. Two additional poles are planned to be placed in the highway right-of-way on both banks of Smith Creek, as shown on the plans. A third pole will be installed on the east side of Castle Hayne Road to replace a pole previously broken off. Agreements with CP&L and BellSouth are in process and will be forwarded to the District when received and prior to any work. By the nature of aerial installation, an erosion control permit is not required for this project. The land disturbed during construction will be less than one acre and with the exception of the two new poles, no land disturbing is planned.
