Dear Mr. Parker,
On the behalf of Ed and Kathleen Jaeckel, I would like to request a general permit for lot 27,
Indigo Plantation. A general permit (# 019762-D) for the lot was issued on 2-4-99, however, the
Jaeckels would like to alter the t-head design by adding a 4'wide x 16' long extension on the
western end of the t-head. The entire 4'width would extend over the creek edge, beginning past
the outer most edge of Spartina alterniflora. The extension is meant to serve as access to a boat
and would be placed at an elevation lower than the overall t-head(about 4'MSL). Because this
elevation would not provide the required 3' clearance above the marsh surface, the extension
would be placed entirely over the creek. Outside of this 4', an 8" diameter piling would be
installed for an electric boat lift. The extension and piling combined would extend 4' 8" into the
creek. The creek width has been measured in the field, and was found to be 22'wide. The
proposed modification will be contained within 1/4 the creek width.
The remainder of the t-head would remain as previously permitted. The only exception is a sink
that would be installed at the juncture of the dock and t-head.
Detailed drawings from the Jaeckel's architect are enclosed. Please contact me with any
