He has described that the Town's facility will need to be expanded and temporarily modified to suit his needs. Again, all work proposed is temporary in nature and is to be removed to the original permit facility upon completion of the shooting. The purpose of this letter is to assist Mr. Linehan in his proposal. For CAMA Temporary Permit purposes, the facility proposed to be temporarily modified was permitted under #94-012 and all surrounding property is in the ownership of the Town of Carolina Beach and we have no objections to Mr. Linehan's proposal and will monitor the construction, shooting activity, and demolition after shooting through the Town's L.P.O.'s in compliance with any permits issued by the CAMA Regional Office. Secondly, we were also permitted under New Hanover County Building Inspections Department to construct the original facility. This is to verify to the Department that we do not object to temporary modifying the deck facility which shall be removed after shooting of the film. Mr. Linehan has been instructed that either my staff or myself will monitor the activities relative to the proposed construction and activities associated therewith. (1) Only negligible alteration of dunes is allowed during construction and any disturbed areas of vegetation shall be revegetated immediately. (2) This permit may be renewed for one year if requested before the expiration date. (3) Accessways shall be exclusively for pedestrian use, shall be no more than 6 feet in width, and shall be elevated on pilings of no more than 5 feet in depth so that only the pilings touch the sand. (4) All parts of the structure must be located entirely landward of stable, natural vegetation. (5) Because this is a renourished area with planted vegetation, the bottom of the structure must be elevated a minimum of 4' above substrate.
