Parsley Jr. 4133 Crescent Road Birmingham, AL 35222 Dear Mr. Parsley: This letter is in response to your January 4, 2000 correspondence, with respect to your concerns about the proposal by Mr. Doug Vass to construct a bulkhead on his lot, adjacent to your property, at 220 S. Waynick Blvd., on Wrightsville Beach, in New Hanover County. The proposed project has been determined to comply with the Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission (7H.1100), and as such, the Division has issued a CAMA General Permit for the proposed action. The 15 ft. setback which you referred to in your letter, applies only to piers, docks, mooring pilings, breakwaters, boat houses, and boat lifts. There is no setback for shoreline stabilization structures. I have enclosed a copy of the rules which govern the issuance of permits for bulkheads and the placement of rip rap (rock). If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit, you must file for a contested case hearing within twenty (20) days. I have enclosed the applicable forms and instructions that must be filed prior to that deadline.
