Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is sublect to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the prolect site and accessible to the permit officer when the proiect is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permitthat l) priorto undertaking any activities authorized bythis permit, the applicantwill
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adlacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistentwith the North CarolinaCoastal Management Program.
lf indicated on front of permit, your proiect is subject to the Environmental Management Commission's Buffer Rules for the
River Basin checked above due to its location within that River Basin. These buffer rules are enforced by the NC Division of

In 1974, the North Carolina General Assembly passed the Coastal Area }llanagement Act
(CAMA) and set the stage for guiding development in fragile and productive areas that
border the state's sounds and oceanfront. Along with requiring special care by those who
build and develop, the (ieneral Assembly direted the Corstal Resources Commission
(CRC) to implement clear regulatioos that minimize thc burden on the rpplicant
This application for a minor developmetrt permit under CAMA is part of the
Commission's cllort to mcel thc spirit and intcnt of thc General Assembly. It has bccn
desigtred to be straightforr-ard and require no more time or ellort than necessar,v from
the applicaDt. Please go over this foldcr with the Local Permit Olfcer (LPO) for rhe
localitv in which you plan to build to bc certain that you utrdcrstlnd what informetion hc
or she needs before )ou rppl):
Under CAMA regulations, the minor permit is to he issued within 25 days once a
complete application is in hantl. Often less time is needed if the pro.iect is simple. The
process generalll'lakes about l8 tlay"s. You can speed the approval pmcess by making
certaio that.v-our application is complete and signed, that your drawitrg meets the
specifications given inside and that your application fee is attached.
Other permits arc sometimes required for developmenl in the coastal area. Whilc thee
are not CAMA-related, we urge you to chtrk with the Local Permit Olficer to determine
which of these you may oeed. A lisl is included on page two of this folder.
