This letter is in response to your May 22, 2000 correspondence, with respect to your concerns
about the proposal by Mr.Chris Bailey to perform maintenance dredging around the docking facility,
adjacent to your property, at 226 S. Waynick Blvd., on Wrightsville Beach, in New Hanover County.
The applicant has been notified that due to the proximity to your property of the proposed work on the
north side of the docks, a CAMA Major Permit application would be required to review that portion of
his proposed project. However, the proposed maintenance excavation on the south side of the docking
facility has been determined to comply with the Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission (7H.1500),
and as such, the Division has issued a CAMA General Permit for that portion of the proposed action.
If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit, you must file for a contested case hearing
within twenty (20) days. Please contact me at [phone]. if you have any questions, or if I can
provide any additional information.

I am writing to inform you that we do object to the proposed dredging for the
Pelican Dock, as noticed on the attached documents. The presence of very large boats and
dredging necessary for their dockage is negatively affecting our beach front and creating
irregular build-ups of sand. Furthermore the largest boat there docks within our riparian
corridor and we are opposed to any dredging within our corridor.
There is no drawing with this request. If there is more that we should know,we
will listen of course.
Thank you for carefully regulating the use of our coast.
