DOCK SPECIFICATIONS
13 July 2000
OVERVIEW: A dock extending from the existing sidewalk into the sound with a deck and gazebo.
(See attached diagrams)
PIER: 92-foot pier extending from the existing sidewalk into the sound 2 5 Treated wood. Pier will
extend 38 feet beyond mean high-water mark. Materials for first 54 feet are on hand.
3-foot high over marsh(CAMA requirement)
4-foot wide on 8-foot centers.
4x6 pilings every 8 feet embedded 8-feet deep minimum(or round equivalent)
Railings
2x6 deck boards
2x8 joists and bands
2x8 cross girders(through-bolted with 5/8 inch bolts)
2x8 cap on handrails
DECK: 12x24 foot dock attached to pier. 2.5 Treated wood.
6x6 pilings every 6 feet embedded 8 feet deep minimum(or round equivalent)
Railings
2x6 deck boards
2x8 joists and bands
2x8 cross girders(through-bolted with 5/8 inch bolts)
2x8 cap on handrails
ROOF(GAZEBO): 12X12 foot hip roof
Plywood sheathing
7.5 feet high at lowest edge
Architectural shingle(25 year)
All construction must meet North Topsail Beach/Onslow County building code.
Each segment(pier, deck,gazebo)must be priced separately.
