Placement of dredged or fill material in wetlands on this property without a Department of the Army
permit is in most cases a violation of Section 301 of the Clean Water Act (33 USC 1311). A permit is
not required for work on the property restricted entirely to existing high ground. If you have any

The enclosed application is for a neighborhood pier to be constructed at the end of
Red Fox Trail, Hampstead,NC. It is a private road, which terminates at waters edge, and
is deeded to all who own property on it.
As the neighborhood agent for this project, I've recently had it resurveyed and
mapped. I have also had the Federal Wetlands Line determined by the Army Corps of
Engineers, surveyed and mapped again. This map has been approved, and signed off by
Mr. Mickey Suggs at the Corps, and is on file there.
The project calls for a 100' pier, including a 12 X 12 platform at its end. It also
includes a ramp and a single float. No boat slips or moorings are applied for. The shore
end of this 4' wide pier will begin above the wetlands line, and terminate past the marsh
line, but just short of our dredged.channel.
This projects aim is to provide access to the water for the enjoyment of the legal
owners of this tract of land only, and not for any commercial purposes. Its construction
will be atypical of neighboring piers, and quite basic. It will also conform to all CAMA
requirements, including the 15' setback from neighboring riparian rights.
