Those activities covered by your Coastal Area Management Act(CAMA)permit have received Buffer Authorization provided the project is constructed in a manner that continues to meet all of the conditions listed below.Failure to comply with this Buffer Authorization may subject the property owner and the party(contractor)performing the construction and/or land clearing to a civil penalty by DWR of up to$25,000 per day per violation. a Crossing is Perpendicular: Pier and docking facility access way must cross the 50 ft,riparian buffer perpendicularly(which is defined as between 75 and 105 degrees)unless otherwise approved by DCM.The alignment shall minimize the removal of woody vegetation to the greatest extent practicable. 2. Pervious Materials:All reasonable measures shall be taken to ensure the access way is made of perviot,s materials like open-slatted wood or composite, mulch,or grass to meet the intent of the rules to the maximum extent practicable. 3. Access Wicth:The width of the pier or docking facility access way shall be limited to six(6)feet. .. Please feel free to call me at 336.339.9055 with any questions. Pier Installation: The proposal shall incorporate the placement of 3 HogSlat brand (or equivalent) concrete decking units, 4' x 10', on the newly installed pilings. See attached drawing for specified piling lengths. Pilings shall be connected by 4" x 10" pressure treated rough cut beams 5' in length. Beams shall provide structural integrity in addition serve as beams for the installation of the concrete decking units. Beams shall be anchored to the newly installed pilings using 5/8" galvanized timber bolts with galvanized washers. Concrete decking shall be connected to the 4" x 10" beams with 5/8" galvanized timber bolts with galvanized washers.4"x 6" pressure treated timbers shall run parallel to the concrete decking and also be anchored to the 4" x 10" beam using 5/8" galvanized timber bolts with washers. Cross beams shall be installed, in an "x"formation between the newly installed pilings to provide structural stability. Piers will have notches for both electrical and water to run underneath following current notches in original deck. (Note: Pier extension to be 3'higher than existing pier. Therefore, the first 4' x 10' decking will be at an angle such that the end of the panel is 3' higher than the existing end of the dock.This section overrides the statement in the graphic description of stairs used in transition) Deck Installation: The proposal shall include the installation of a deck area at the end of the pier to consist of 12 concrete decking panels, 4' x 10', and the installation of new pilings. See attached drawing. Units will be installed using the same procedures are outlined above. Concrete panels will be "wrapped" by an 4" x 6" pressure treated timber on the exterior border on the four sides. Boat lift: RRMC will install a 7,000 lb aluminum TideTamer boathouse lift with 1 motor and aluminum bunks. Electrical connection not included but a RRMC associated electrician is available to quote. Pilings utilized for the installation of the boat lift will be sufficiently long such that a roof over the boat lift may be installed at a later date. Swim Platform Installation: RRMC shall install a fixed 2' x 10' concrete (or Truflow plastic decking) platform with retractable aluminum ladder. Platform will be placed on third platform from shoreline approximately 1'6" down from current Hight. Additional Pilings: As shown, two additional pilings will be driven to allow for boat securing with lines.
