(the"LaQue Center"), I am writing to inform you of our company's objection to the issuance of a CAMA permit to Carolina Power&Light Company. Our objection to the issuance of this permit is based on certain inaccuracies in the maps and elevations referenced in Don Cooke's letter to the LaQue Center dated August 20,2002. According to the latest information we have received, such maps do not accurately describe the location or nature of CP&L's proposed project. As proposed, such project infringes upon the LaQuc Center's riparian rights and materially compromises certain highly-sensitive national security work which we have been requested to perform on our site. We hereby request that the N.C. Division of Coastal Management refrain from issuing a CAMA permit to CP&L on this matter until such time as precise plans and specifications for CP&L's proposed project can be reviewed by the LaQue Center and our project review entities contacts.
