This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that I)prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit,the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s)

Directions: 1. Cut grooves 1-3/4" deep and 1-1/2" wide (see diagram) , hammer out wit.!,
screw driver, fit in "#" position per diagram, nail t,rether and pains
or stain with exterior grade.
2. Cover with 48" X 48" chain link to support nest and staple to platform.
3. Place a 36" perch base upwards and attach a 24" perch tee. Birds like
tlo perch close to the nest. Perch may be attached after platform is in
-- position on the tree or pole.
4. Top a tree or erect a post or pole near water in habitats suitable for
Ospreys. Platforms should be at least 10' above ground level. Cut
grooves or notches on both sides of top of pole 3-1/2" deep leaving a
. 3" wide and 3-1/2"_ tall sect:ten cm rh—fc,` (see diagram) . - The "platform
should be able to rest on the pole with the center of the pole section
protruding between the platform giving additional support. For a proper

Dear Herb and Liz,
We are writing to notify you that we plan to erect a pole with an osprey nesting platform at its top. The pole will be
placed in the bay about 20 feet from the end of our dock and will rise above the water about 20 feet. We hope the
ospreys who nested last year in the dead tree two lots to the west of us,will return to this area again in March.
However,they will have to find a new place to build their nest because the tree with their old nest blew down in the
wind storm last week.
With this letter we are sending you a copy of the plans that we are sending to CAMA with our request for a
permit to put this pole into the bay.

Dear Hal and Alice,
We are writing to notify you that we plan to erect a pole with an osprey nesting platform at its top. The pole will be
placed in the bay about 20 feet from the end of our dock and will rise above the water about 20 feet. We hope the
ospreys who nested last year in the dead tree two lots to the west of us,will return to this area again in March.
However,they will have to find a new place to build their nest because the tree with their old nest blew down in the
wind storm last week.
With this letter we are sending you a copy of the plans that we are sending to CAMA with our request for a
permit to put this pole into the bay.
