RE: Bulkhead Repair
Dear Jerry:
Thank you for your letter of April 17, 2003 describing the proposed repair work to the existing
bulkhead around the St. James Marina basin. The proposed work involves repairing the
expansion joints and possibly replacing 30' of filter fabric behind an existing section of wall.
This work is considered to be repair of an existing structure and does not require a permit from
Coastal Management.

Dear Janet:
Per your request the Marina at St, James Plantation is in the process of beginning minor repairs on
specific areas of the marina bulkhead cap. This work includes repairing existing cap expansion joints
by removing expansion..caulk and making any repairs to the concrete while reapplying expansion
material:=Also at 45.degree location in the west wall it is necessary that we-remove backfill to determine
the state of the filter fabric.-Once the overall state is determined we will replace approximately 30 feet of.
fabric and backfill the affected area.
Please find enclosed a drawing outlining the affected areas. Please call me should you ,need any
further information. I will call you to be sure that we may able to start repairs.
