Dear Mr. &Mrs. Sweatt:
On April 2, 2003 I made an on-site inspection at 119 Scotchbonnet at Holden Beach. The
purpose of the inspection was to determine whether or not replacement of the existing floating
dock would require a CAMA Permit. The proposed replacement of the 8' by 12' floating dock
will be less than 50% of the total pier/dock structure and will therefore be considered repair.
This letter serves as authorization to replace the floating dock. The new float must be in line
with or landward of the adjacent floating docks (no farther out).
Please check with the Town of Holden Beach to see if a building permit is required. Provide
them a copy of this Exemption letter, if necessary.
