This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that I)prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit,the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s).
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief,certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

I hope this letter finds you'll doing fine.Hopefully you survived the cold weather and the holiday season ok.

- Don't knOw if you are aWare of it or hot,but I am remodeling 145 Tarlion and planning to move back onto
the beach this Spring.Looking forward to getting back on the water. .
I have purchased another boat,a 20'Trophy cuddy cabin and have talked to the Town about putting in a
boat lift rather than putting up with bottom painting and the other problems of leaving the boat in the water.
The reason for this letter is that CAMA requires me to advise adjoining property owners of my intention to
put in a lift before they will issue me a permit to install it.In addition,if the lift will be within 15' of your
property line I need a waiver signed agreeing to the lift.Without the waiver they will not allow the lift. •
Attached is'a diagram entitled Proposed Boat Lift Site-145 Tarpon.As you can see I plan to install the lift(
basically 4 posts with a motor and cradel to lift the boat)as close to my deck as possible and between the
deck and the boat ramp.It should be 12'wide+/-and so it will be about 10' from your property line.It will
be'done tastefully'and should be an addition not a detraction from the canal.

Also,,I a,ssume you,know already,but you have a floating dock piling that has come out of the bottom.If
you would like I can get it reinstalled when I put in my pilings.It would probably cost you a lot less than
having someone make a special trip.Just let me know.With everything going on now it will possibly be 60
—90 days before I can get the work done if that timing is ok. Of course I need the permit first before I do
-anything.
