Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that I)prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit,the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s).
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief,certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Hope you had a great holiday and a happy new year.
Seagate office park has selected me for their project. Brady said they had been in communication with you already.
We want to go back with existing design and do a Isaias permit but we would like to opt out of going into the 15' setback
on either side to avoid neighbor waivers.

Thanks for all your help so far. Chris Hobgood,an engineer with Holmes Engineering Firm,was able to examine our bulkhead
yesterday. I was not able to speak with the engineer personally but one of the other condo owners did.
It sounds like the inner bulkhead is structurally intact and is functioning well. The outer bulkhead is more of a breakwater and does
not need any major repairs at the present time. He said that some of the individual rotten boards could be replaced.
So it sounds like we do not need to worry about getting a permit for bulkhead replacement.
I still need to talk to the other condo owners about how to proceed with the permit for the dock replacement. (Do we want to replace
the docks in the same configuration they are in now or if we want to stay 15 feet away from the property lines)
I hope to have an answer for you next week so we can proceed with the CAMA permit for dock replacement.

that boat lift that you were aware of(?). I didn't pull that one.

Thanks. The permit that you sent is the one from the original development of the property to build the Seagate Condos. Did you find
any more recent permits to add another bulkhead in the late 1990's or early 2000's? A neighbor said that the outer bulkhead may have
been placed around that time.

Attached is the earliest permit I could find for the bulkhead. There are a few folders associated with this permit from
around this time period. I just did a quick look but feel free to schedule a file review if you would like all the details. I was
specifically looking for information regarding building specs for the bulkhead.
I noticed that the proposed bulkhead was to replace an even earlier one. The cross-section view of the proposed
construction does appear to show a gap between two walls with no fill material called out on the plan. I wouldn't know if
that was intentional or not.

I'm finishing up the permit to replace the floating docks but using google earth it appears that the distance from the
riparian line (in this area it approximates the property line) shared with Alpha mortgage to the Seagate HOA floating dock
is less than 15'. This will trigger the need for a riparian waiver. I've attached the form needed for this. If you think you
may have an issue getting them to sign it you could shorten the long access floater(similar to what we discussed for the
Dockside side) a little to avoid this.
Let me know what you would like to do. Apologies—I should have measured this while onsite. Visually I thought you were
outside that 15ft.
