Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that I)prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit,the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s).
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief,certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Dear Sir/Madam:
Attached is an Adjacent Property Owner Notification/Waiver Form and attached drawing
that we received from Tim Farmer. Our property at 15 Cumberland Street Ocean Isle
Beach, NC is adjacent to 17 Cumberland Street.
•
Please note that on January 5, 2003 we signed a notification form (copy attached) for Tim
Farmer, which included a drawing with a different proposal that did not indicate
encroachment on the 15 feet setback. On that form we also indicated that we did not wish
to waive the 15 feet setback requirement.
•
• The purpose of this Ietter is to inform you that we object to the current proposal as
described in the drawing. Our objection is based on the fact that the proposed dock would
be within 15 feet from our property line. Accordingly, we do not wish to waive the 15
feet setback requirement.
We believe additional congestion in the concrete canals at Ocean Isle Beach would tend
to aggravate a situation that is already under close scrutiny.
Please keep us informed as to any further correspondence, discussion or proceedings in
this matter.
