Dear Bill:
Nancy and I are applying for a CAMA and a Town building permit to remove our
existing bulkhead and replace it on the same tine with a new bulkhead, about
four feet high, across the entire waterway frontage of our lot. Our existing
bulkhead is only 54 feet long by 33 inches high. Your bulkhead is 56 inches high
at our common line. Also our new bulkhead will have to extend about 27 to 30
feet back along the Boyd Street right of way. No marsh grass will be disturbed.
We will back fill behind the bulkhead to level the lot and repair the erosion.
The Town has no objection to this proposal.
We have been getting increasing erosion of our lot in that northwest corner and
some under the existing bulkhead. We need to stop this erosion.
Before we can meet with the CAMA people, we need your statement that you
have no objection to our plan. The enclosed form is for your use. I have
enclosed a drawing of the proposal, the NCDENR form, their instructions and a
stamped envelope for your use. If you have any questions, our telephone
