We are to be adjoining neighbors of Mr. Coleman Ramsey. We,too, have a bulkhead in place, as do three neighbors to the left, and many more to the right of Mr. Ramsey. The neighbors to the left of Mr. Ramsey's lot have bulkheads in line with each other, done so by CAMA/ CORE of ENGINEERS out of the Wilmington,NC office, and done in accordance with the tide/water lines. The neighbors to the right of Mr. Ramsey's lot are graduated further back into the mainland (not into the ICWW),than are the ones to his left. His drawings are showing his bulkhead several feet further out into the water than any of his neighbors, including the one next door to him, (14' away). I'm sure we all would love to be able to just go out and take what we want, and claim it for our own. The waterway end of Mr. Ramsey's lot is clearly well defined because it is raised above the surrounding high water area by approx. 2' or more, with thick grass on its waterfront boundary, and has been this way since the last nine years we have been here. The lot in question, is shown on the original survey map as being 162' on the Inland Drive Roadway side that extends to the ICWW. His"new" drawings show this same lot side to be 194.39'. His "new" footage is apparently going to be acquired out of the ICWW enlarging his original lot length by 32.39'. His stake on his"new property line" extends out into the waterway/marsh grass way beyond all of surrounding bulkheads. We do not think his bulkhead should be allowed to extend out into the waterway further than the rest of the ones already in place at Inland Drive or surrounding streets. Please see attached copy of this lot's original measurements as compared to Mr. Ramsey's "new" measurements. I don't believe the ICWW is up for grabs for new property owners to claim, if so then I am next on the list; as well as my neighbors, to claim a NEW additional 30' onto my nronertv waterfront whenever I repair/rebuild my existing bulkhead. We feel that this is ,ri11 be here to view this situation in person so I can be present also. Mr. Ramsey's is almost 100' wide as compared to some neighbors who only have 50' wide lots to cork with. This extra wide lot should be sufficient for him to come up with a livable/workable house plan. My house plan was redrawn three times to make it work on our 50' wide lot. I was told how many square feet I had to build on after my septic system took up over half of my lot. My builder drew a plan to fit the remainder of usable lot with all setbacks in place without taking extra feet out of the ICWW. It can be done!! In regards to the proposed 11' boat lift and roof extension to the existing 30' pier head, we would like for this to be added onto the right side of his existing pier instead of on the left(Inland Drive side). It appears that people can't wait to get here to the water to build for the beautiful view, then the first thing they want to do is construct an eyesore in it for everyone else to have to look at. We love and value our view here, and see no reason why this can't be moved to the other side of his pier. The neighbor to his right is not a full time resident, and after the drawing he did for Mr. Ramsey, extending him out into the ICWW over 30', one would think he would not have an objection to this request. We would appreciate consistency in waterway boundary checks, guidelines for bulkheads, piers, &boatlifts, so the marsh grass and beauty of the ICWW can be protected and preserved for us all. We need to work at saving our Natural Resources, not abuse them. We would greatly appreciate CAMA's assistance in this problem. I would appreciate hearing from you regarding these issues. Thank you.
