Dear Mr. Holt:
This letter is written to notify you, as an adjacent riparian property owner, of the
proposed new bulkhead project at The Kratsa Residence, 187 Beach Road South,
Figure Eight Island. It is the subject property owner's intent to construct no more than
500 linear feet of a steel sheetpile bulkhead in front of the existing timber bulkhead that
has failed. A plan view showing the approximate new bulkhead location, a 2002 aerial
photograph showing the original bulkhead location, as well as a section view showing
the new bulkhead construction is attached for your review.
As a adjacent riparian property owner you are entitled to comment on the
proposed development. Attached is a Division of Coastal Management Adjacent
Riparian Property Owner Notification/Waiver Form. Please complete this form and
return to the Division of Coastal Management in the attached addressed envelope
within 10 days of receipt of this notice. No response will be interpreted as no objection.

I do not object to the proposed bulkhead placement or construction on the Kratsa Lot on
Figure Eight. I support whatever action he may need to take to protect his structure. He needs
to be sure that the structure is located on his property. It would appear by the information
presented by the Engineering firm representing Mr. Kratsa there may be an encroachment on
Association owned property. If Mr. Kratsa has extenuating circumstances that would support
an encroachment on the Association property then I would encourage him or his Engineering
firm to supply the Board of Directors with a letter of justification and request to allow the
encroachment.
If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Once again,we offer our full
support for the structure on his property.
