Subject:Water depths in PNA
Hi Kimberlee,
I'm Brendan Brock and I'm the Brunswick County field rep for DCM.
I was at 9035 Schuyler DR SW in Calabash yesterday getting water
depths in a PNA. I have attached the proposed docking facility with
the depths I took at 9:45am on 8/26. Would you allow the boatlift
to go in that location being that the prop of the boat would be in
sufficient water? Also, the 10'x16' "floating dock" is actually going
to be a modified boatlift with a dock in the middle rather than a
cradle so it can be lifted up and down when not in use. Would you
treat this like a boatlift and only require the 18" of water at NLW?
Please let me know your thoughts on the borderline water depths
in this area and how you would like me to proceed. If you are okay
with the drawing as proposed, I can write a general permit, but if
you do not feel there is sufficient water, they will have to apply for
a major permit.

Ok thank you. The subset beach bridge tidal gauge had low tide at 9:07am
yesterday. And I figured with the lag, it was probably close to dead low tide
when I was there at 9:45.

When I looked up the tides for Sunset Beach It had low tide at 8:08,so
those depths could be even lower than you measured. I will have to ask
about the specifics of a permit asking for a floating dock, but is not meant
to float.
