Dear Michael Smithe et al:
Please see the attached CAMA form and the accompanying drawings.
Betty and I own the property known as 863 Royal Tern Drive and also known as lot 69R
in the Pelican Reef subdivision. Our property is adjacent to your property [lot 71-also
known as 831 Royal Tern Drive].
Betty and I intend to build a dock that will extend from our property to the channel in
Virginia Creek [behind our property] —so that Betty can better use her canoe.
NC CAMA regulations require us to notify adjacent property owners of our intentions.
The form states and asks whether you will or will not allow our imposition within your
riparian rights of 15 feet. [What it says is I do not wish to waive the setback requirements
OR I do wish to waive the setback requirements]. Technically—this is not an issue in this
case as—we have over 500 feet of creek frontage. If you look at the drawing—we will
not be within your 15 feet of Riparian rights.
Never the less,NC CAMA regulations require us to notify you of our intentions. Please
select your do not wish or do wish selection on the accompanying NC CAMA form and
return it to us in the pre-addressed,postage paid envelope within the next 10 days. Please
note,that a non receipt of a reply within the 10 day period is considered to be an
acceptance.
