Unfortunately, I've got to be in New Bern on the 21st. If you could send me a certificate of exemption that would
work just as well. The docks measure 3'4"x 46', 4'7"x46' and 3'8"x46'. Since we will not be doing the work for a
couple of weeks there is no need for you to fax the certificate. You can just send the original to me by mail. The
address of the site is 6418 Orange Street, Castle Hayne, 28429. My address is at the bottom of the page.

the work you are proposing seems to be maintenance and repair. I'd be happy to meet you there
if needed. I'm going to be in that area on the 21 st, too. i also was just up there a few weeks ago
with steve everhart (ncwc) and fritz rohde (ncdmf). i can issue a certification of exemption
letter for the work and send it through fax and mail the original. if you could send me the
dimensions of the docks,that would be great. again, we can meet down there as well and go
over any further questions.

We are interested in doing some upgrade to the docks at the NCWRC Castle Hayne Boating Access
Area and request an onsite visit to determine if any permitting will be needed. Basically the plan is to
redeck the existing wooden docks using treated lumber. The only change would be to remove the step
downs by making the center section of each dock inclined. Please let me know the days you are in Ne\
Hanover and then we can try to set a time to review this. Thanks.
