My husband, James, and I are the owners of the property on 305 40th Street, Sunset
Beach, adjacent to yours. We would like to build a dock off our property and have been
told by the Coastal Area Management Agency (CAMA)that they will issue a permit for
us to do so if we provide them with evidence that you have been notified of our intentions
and you are in agreement.
Existing federal guidelines require all new docks to be built perpendicular to the
intercoastal waterway. I am enclosing a copy of a recent survey of our property showing
the legal requirements for a dock on our property. As you can see, a dock built from our
property would intersect yours. We are therefore seeking permission to build a dock
parallel to yours and to that of the house at 303 40th Street.
If you have no objections to our doing so, please indicate this by signing the enclosed
copy of this letter and returning it in the envelope provided, to our builder, Fred
Yarbrough (Yarbrough and Company Builders, 428 Sunset Blvd, Sunset Beach 28468).
If you have any questions about this the easiest way to reach us is probably through
email:[e-mail] We live in Singapore and there is a 12 hour time
difference which makes phone calls problematic!
