While I applaud the efforts of Drs. Joe and Cathy Kosterman to "beautify this area with an upscale property on the site", I do have some concerns. Please consider the following: 1. Bulkhead revisions need to be more detailed. There are no specific measurements, widths, lengths, etc. it seems appropriate to me that a more detailed plan be required before I can make a final decision. 2. As stated in the letter we received from Dorothy H. Dale, Realty World Coastal Properties, I am being asked to approve "bulkhead and dock revisions" at 1303 Canal Drive. Therefore, I am of the opinion that in keeping with the intent of Coastal management regulations, the correct interpretation would require that all properties comply with CAMA requirements. As I stated in our phone conversation, this would include the removal of three pilings and a floating dock on the south side of the property. Furthermore, I am not aware of any approval given to have the pilings on the property. Also the floating dock is relatively new (within the last three years) and I am not aware of any required waiver to install said floating dock.
