Dear Jim:
We spoke on September 14, 2006 regarding a dock permit requested by Dan Johnson, Lot
42, Sunset Beach,NC 28468. Sammy Varnam is the contractor for dock construction.
I have no objection to the construction of a dock attached to lot 42, which is adjacent to
my lot at 1817 Main Street East, Sunset Beach,NC 28468.
My only concern is that a dock of the proposed length (approximately 120 feet from the
top of the rip-rap seawall by my estimate) might interfere with navigation on Jinks Creek
at low tide given the current location of the main channel.
Therefore, as an adjacent riparian property owner, I approve the permit request (attached)
contingent upon DCM's determination that the proposed dock will not interfere with
navigation on Jinks Creek.
