Duncan Marine proposes to dredge approximately 1,000 cubic yards of fill material for
the purpose of maintaining the depth in the basin to 5' at MLW. Dredging will occur on
the north and west sides of the basin. The spoil will be deposited on-site.
The adjacent property owners have been notified and the "Green Cards" are attached. A
vicinity map, authorization letter, and previous CAMA permits are also attached.
We would like a General Permit issued for this work. Thank you for your help.

Excavation and Spoil Disposal
1) A 10 foot undisturbed buffer shall be maintained between the perimeter of the dredge area and an
area of coastal wetlands.
2) Excavation shall not exceed-5 feet below the mean low water level in Section II and -6 feet belo
the mean low water level in Section I. The depth of excavation shall taper from -6 to -8 feet i
the entrance channel.
/ 3) In no case shall the depth of excavation exceed that of the adjacent connecting waters.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS
4) In order to protect juvenile shrimp and finfish populations, no excavation will be permitted
between April 1 and September 30 of any year without the prior approval of the Division of
Coastal Management, in coordination with the Division of Marine Fisheries.
5) All excavated materials will be confined above mean high water and landward of regularly or
irregularly flooded marsh behind adequate dikes or other retaining structures to prevent spillover
of solids into any marsh or surrounding waters.
• 6) The diked disposal area must be inspected and approved by a representative of the Division prio
to the initiation of any dredging activities.
' 7) The disposal area effluent will be contained by pipe,trough, or similar device to a point at or
beyond the mean low/normal water level to prevent gully erosion and unnecessary siltation.
• 8) The terminal end of the pipeline will be positioned at or greater than 50 feet from any part of the
dike and a maximum distance from spillways to allow settlement of suspended sediments.
9) A water control structure will be installed at the intake end of the effluent pipe to assure
compliance with water quality standards.
10) The diked disposal area will be constructed a sufficient distance from the mean high water level
1 or any marsh to eliminate the possibility of dike erosion into surrounding wetlands or waters.
11) The permitted activity will be conducted in such a manner as to prevent a significant increase in
turbidity outside of the area of construction or construction-related discharge. Increases such th
the turbidity in the waterbody is 25 NTU's or less in all saltwater classes are not considered
' significant.
• 12) The temporary placement or double handling of fill materials within waters or vegetated
wetlands is not authorized.
• 13) No attempt will be made by the permittee to prevent the full and free use by the public of all
navigable waters at or adjacent to the authorized work.
