The CAMA form and the drawing received on 9/15/07 are in conflict to the 1st drawing received and raise additional questions. 1. Is the plan now to just put Rip Rap around the end of the existing tile and put Rip Rap under the dock to prevent further erosion? If that is the case,we have no objections for a permit to put Rip Rap at the end of the existing tile and put Rip Rap under the dock. 2. Does Mrs. Overman plan to fill her property and raise the elevation of her property as stated in her original drawing(which is included here)? Further information is requested concerning the following points: • We need a plan drawing showing the exact area to be filled. • We need an elevation drawing showing the height of the proposed fill area. • Will the storm grate placed on top of the drainage box remain at the lowest point, therefore allowing proper drainage? • Who will assume responsibility of maintaining a clear path for drainage? • How will the fill be sloped to join the two properties? • Will any fill take place within the DOT right-of-way? • Who currently has the responsibility of maintaining this drainage? DOT? Town of Surf City?Property owner? • Will the size of the drainage materials (pipe diameter, square footage of storm grate, cubic footage of drain box)be determined based upon current drainage needs or will it take into consideration future development across the street that may increase drainage needs? • I believe the current outfall into the sound would not be allowed if constructed today with current regulations; therefore, can these proposed changes be made to the current drainage system without bringing the entire system up to current standards. We are not trying to be difficult to get along with and we certainly are not trying to prevent Mrs. Overman from making improvements to her property. Please note that the property owner on the opposite side of Mrs. Overman(Rogers)has raised his property above the level of her property by about 2 or 3 feet. If she raises hers to the level of his property without making additional adjustments then the water from both properties will go under our house and through our garage.
