As followup, it looks like permit 47536 (whose source permit is 47472), although a modification of the boatlift's
dimensions from 14.5 x 12 to 14.5 x 10 (allowable for a Modify), has NEW issue and expiration date info AND a fee
charge. As an EXAMPLE of valid Modify entry, you might want to view a Modify you had entered...you might even want to
see what the hardcopy and data entry looked like -- Initial was 38409, Modify of that Initial (no. 41485) made activity
changes. The Modify used the SAME permit number of the ACTIVE permit it was modifying -- making activity changes but with
no fee for something NOT expired yet. The applicant for your Modify EXAMPLE was Billy Movely, and the issue/expiration
date for the Modify was the same as for the Initial. It changed activity info, but had no fee associated with it.
Even though your current problem "Modify" 47536 is marked as a Modify AND should still have the same issue/expiration
date as its source permit 47472, I would be inclined to do it as a Reissue even though its source permit doesn't expire
until May. I say this because it a) has a different issue/expiration date than the source permit and b) has a fee
associated with it. I talked with Josh about what might be a misunderstanding of what Modifies do/don't do and I believe
he is going to bring the topic up with those responsible for ensuring working knowledge transfer to make sure we are all
on the same page when it comes to Modifies for Generals. In the meantime, I think I would enter your permit 47536 in as
a Reissue, making sure to designate the source permit's activity as "NOT Reissued" when you hit the activity page, adding
your boatlift with changed dimensions in as an activity with the dimensions corrected for the Reissue.
