This letter is in response to your correspondence received by the Division of Coastal Management
:eived on January 18, 2007 regarding your concerns about the proposal by Corky Collins and Becky Hu
;tall a new boatlift adjacent to their existing pier, adjacent to the Lockwoods Folly River, at 2861 Island
Bolivia, in Brunswick County. According to the Riparian Corridor Survey dated February 21. 2007. NA
Ls submitted indicates there is approximately a 15 feet envelope in which a boatlift could be installed wi
croaching into the 15-foot riparian corridor setback adjacent to your property. Therefore, the installatior
boatlift has been determined to comply with the Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission (7H.1201
:neral Permit for construction of piers, docks, and boat houses in the Estuarine Shoreline AEC. and as s
rmit has been issued to authorize the development. I have enclosed a copy of the permit. as well as. the
evant statutes.
If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit, you may file a request for a Third Party He
Le request for a hearing will be considered by the Chairman of the Coastal Resources Commission. The
aring request must be filed with the Director, Division of Coastal Management, in writing and must be
:eived within twenty(20) days after the disputed permit decision is made. I have enclosed the applicab

Enclosed with this letter are a copy of my letter to the River Run Property Owners'
Association and two documents showing the lots of River Run.
As stated in the POA letter, the Hucks' plan is to build their boat lift on the side of their
dock adjacent to my property. I signed an agreement to the placement in haste without
realizing the impact to me.
I have enclosed a document that shows the configurations of both lots, Hucks' and Tyls'.
I have marked the document to show water front. Please note that the back of the Hucks'
lot touches in its entirety the Lockwood Folly River. The small water access of my
property is just at the point where they intend to place the lift. The remainder of the back
of my property touches on land owned by the Cox family heirs and is a private picnic
area.
Again, I do not wish to have the lift placed next to my property. My water access would
be severely restricted. As you mentioned, a survey may be required to show the channel
and the Hucks would be responsible to have the survey done. If this should be necessary,
I will want to see a copy of the survey.
I would appreciate notification by your office in writing of the outcome of this problem.

RE: Boat Lift
My neighbors,Corkey and Rebecca Huck,have plans to add a boat lift to the existing clock on their
property at 2861 Island Dr.,SC,River Run Plantation,Bolivia,NC. In December 2006 Mr.Huck asked me
to sign a release to allow the construction. Unfortunately,I signed too quickly without realizing,the
planned position of the lift
The}lucks plan to place the lift on the right side of the dock looking toward the river. This would extend
within 15 feet of my property line. This is unacceptable to me.
I have made several calls to CAMA in Wilmington to ask for instruction as to how to rescind my approval
of the lift next to my property, This morning 1 spoke with Debbie Wilson of the Division of Coastal
Management. She informed me that a survey may needed to determine the position of the channel. I did
let her know that I would need to see the survey if it is determined the lift cannot be installed on the left
side of the dock facing the water.
My intention is not to prevent construction of the lift,but to protect my property. I have no objection to the
lift being installed on Mr.Huck's side of the dock.
