Re: CAMA Permit #91-96 Request for Repair/Maintenance Permit(s) for Deep Point Marina Bulkhead
Dear Ms. Coats:
Bald Head Island Limited, LLC has asked me to request repair/maintenance permit(s) for two locations
at Deep Point Marina.
One is at the Northeast corner of the marina, near the barge ramp. The 45 degree ground level tie
rod at the corner is pulling out, and we would like to reinforce the corner cap, either with concrete or
bulkhead reinforcing similar to what was done at Bald Head Island.
The second area is where the new ferry terminal is being constructed. We would like to put riprap or
similar material in the marina to protect the bulkhead waterside of the 204' long ferry terminal. The
ferries often remain "in gear" when embarking/disembarking passengers, causing localized "deep
spots". It will be a lot easier to riprap now, after the piles are driven, but before the over the water
portion of the ferry terminal is constructed.
Included are 5 sheets 1 1"xl 7" dated & sealed 10-9-07. These are conceptual more so than final
engineering drawings. If you have any questions and/or comments, please call me at 910-457-7517 or

When you visit Deep Point for your Marina Dredge Pipe inspection, perhaps you can look at these two
items. Let me know what, if any` rttj'rrf e ,will be required. Thanking you in advance for attention to
