Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
iandowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Plans Description for Bulkhead Improvement at 2102 Middle Sound
Loop Road
The numbered descriptions below refer to the items on the attached plans.
1. Blanton Bulkhead— This is a 23' portion of bulkhead that will tie in with
the MiddleSound Marina bulkhead. The continuity of the two will allow for
greater stability. There will be a 10' tieback as noted in the diagram. The
material consists of PZC-13 steel driven into the bedrock, anchored by tie
backs with helical anchors attached at the waler (Diagram 3). The proposed
bulkhead will be placed approximately 5 feet landward of the current
bulkhead (Diagram 1). The current bulkhead and the deck on top of the
bulkhead will be removed.
2. Blanton patio (stepped concrete pad) — Some of the concrete will be
removed during the placement of the helical anchors for the bulkhead. After
the bulkhead is in place the existing concrete area will be re-constructed.
The existing area of concrete is approximately 17' x 19'.
3. Blanton Dock—The existing dock and gangway will be put back as is and
attached to the new bulkhead (Diagram 2). Because the new bulkhead is 14
feet landward of the existing bulkhead, the new dock will be moved 14 feet
landward of its current position.
