RE: Oak Winds Marina Repair, Exemption Certificate, CAMA permit 132-96
Dear Mr. Mairs;
On behalf of Atlantic Blue Properties, LLC, I am notifying the Division of Coastal
Management of the planned repairs from normal deterioration to the existing structures at
Oak Winds Marina. The planned repair work follows the rules outlined in the North
Carolina Administrative Code 07J.0210. There are no planned repairs to any non-water
dependent structures. We are planning on replacing 18 free standing moorings and 2,917
sq. ft. of the floating structures. We also are planning on removing 375 sq. ft. of fixed
walkway previously required as a Fire Department access. The floating main and
associated fingers at the far eastern portion of the Marina are to be replaced (Figure 1).
We are planning on moving the floating main 5 feet back from the channel, narrowing the
width of the floating main from 8 feet to 6 feet and extending the existing fingers 7 feet.
The planned repairs do not increase the size of the originally permitted structures, nor do
they change the projects primary use. There will also be no damage to the natural
environment or adjacent property owners. We would like to request an exemption
certificate from DCM for these planned repairs to Oak Winds Marina. We have
contracted a marine contractor to conduct the planned repairs in November 2007. Any
assistance in helping us accomplish the repair work within thi ti wfane�bld be
