CAMA APPLICATION FOR GENERAL PERMIT
FOR FLOATING DOCK
Diane Cox and Richard L. Stanley are the owners of the two townhomes at 5124 W and 5124 E
Bogue Sound Drive, Emerald Isle, NC. The two townhomes are located on lot 7, Section A, Block
20, Emerald Isle, as shown on a plat recorded in Map Book 14, page 33, Carteret County Registry.
The lot has a navigable canal and Bogue Sound as its northern line. The shoreline is bulkheaded and prior to
Hurricane Florence, there was a floating dock in the canal attached to two pilings and having dimensions of 10
feet by 10 feet. The floating dock for the most part was used for kayak access.
The floating dock was destroyed by Hurricane Florence. The applicants are proposing to locate a 4 foot by
16 foot floating dock in the canal anchored by two pilings and the 15 foot CAMA setback will be maintained
for this. There will be a gangplank or ramp to walk from the lot down to the floating dock.
The owners on the east side are Mr. and Mrs. Nick D. Kornegay III, 2680 West Ridge Road, Kinston, NC
28504. The owners on the west side are Paul and Leah Seifert, 4852 Sunset Forest Circle,
Holly Springs, NC 27540.
