Mrs McGirt,
The federal channel in the Shallotte River is defined by the deepest water in the river. The location of the
federal can thus change location. This is how congress authorized this project. So, we are unable to place a
defined line on any map depicting the location of the channel, at this time.
Attached is a aerial photo of your property on the Shallotte River based on the latitude/longitude in the
permit application for the approved pier. Our Navigation Branch has added a pier line to which you can extend
your dock. It generally lines up with the docks to either side of your property. We also added a scale to assist
with your dock extension.
