The applicant proposes to install (2)new boat lifts,dredge in the areas for the boat lifts, and dredge along the face of the dock. The total excavation will be approximately 400 cubic yards. Installation of 2 boat lifts on the back side of the floating dock. The property my wife and I own abuts on the north east side the property where the installation of the two boat lifts is being proposed. One of the most valuable assets of our property is the panoramic view from the waterside of the house. Friends who visit and tenants who rent call it a"million dollar view." In fact the winter tenant for the past three years has rented it only because of the view it affords. The boat lifts will greatly impair that view since the dock to which they will be attached is in the center of that view as you look to the southwest. The lifts will also increase the influx of people coming and going, will increase the parking problem and the pedestrian traffic — especially if the intent of the owner is to operate the property more for business purposes. People at our house use the area in front of the house for swimming; it is the best area on the lagoon for swimming because of the sandy area in front of our house. Also increased boat fuel consumption caused by the increased activity will contaminate the air. While the lifts may enhance the value of the proposer's property,they will impair the value and enjoyment of ours because of the reasons stated above. Two boat lifts are being proposed—one on each side of the pier leading to the floating dock. The one on the right side of the pier as you face the water is more objectionable than the one on the left side. Because of that and because of our deire to cooperate as neighbors my wife and I have agreed to remove our objection to the construction of the boat lift on the left side of the pier as you face the water while we strongly object to the proposal for the construction of the boat lift on the right side. 2. Dredging the area around the floating dock. We object to any dredging that will deepen our side of a line extended out from our property line into the water. Children and older adults enjoy swimming in the water in front of our house. They like the depth of the water as it is now.
