The North Carolina State Ports Authority requests a general permit to allow the
Port of Wilmington to replace the existing wooden railroad trestle structure that has
deteriorated significantly. The NC State Ports currently holds CAMA Permit#47-87

The scope of work for the replacement includes the removal of the existing
wooden piles and supports and replacing them with 40"metal culverts. Any and all
material removed from the repair will be disposed of in accordance with all State and
Federal regulations. There will be no stockpiling of any excavated material in or near the
wetlands. The new culverts will be installed following both CAMA and NC Division of
