On behalf of the City of Wilmington I am writing to request approval for
development. A General Permit is requested to allow for minor modification,
repair and improvements to existing mooring facilities (Coastline Dock — C Dock)
located on the Cape Fear River adjacent to the Best Western Coastline Inn at 485
N. Water Street, in New Hanover County. Enclosed are maps of the site location
and project area, project drawings and photographs of the existing mooring
facilities as well as project drawings of the proposed development. Also enclosed
are copies of notification letters and certified mail return receipts confirming
notification of the proposed development to adjacent property owners.
The proposed development is necessary to make repairs and improvement to
existing City of Wilmington public mooring facilities which are currently unsafe
for public use. Proposed improvements include replacing the floating docks
within the same existing footprint as well as the reinstallation of utilities and fire
suppression systems. There will be no repairs or modifications to the adjacent
fixed pier or riverwalk and there will be no piles driven.

Permit to allow for minor modification, repair and improvements to existing mooring

CAMA regulations this letter shall serve as official notification of the proposed project.
