To Whom It May Concern:
The Beach House Yacht Club Owners Association, Inc. (BHYCOA) proposes to build a
fixed walkway with a landing for an access ramp to their floating docks and to move a
finger pier on the existing floating dock on Yow's Channel in Surf City, NC.
The walkway will start on the ground behind the rip rap and be 20 feet long ending in a
10 foot by 10 foot platform to which an aluminum ramp will be attached. There will be a
small floating dock attached to the existing floating dock for the ramp to land. This dock
piece will be 6 feet wide by 16.5 feet long. The addition of this access ramp will allow
the BHYCOA boaters access to BHYCOA docks without having to cross the neighboring
property to the south. This will also prevent boaters from having to access the docks
through the forklift launch area.
The finger pier we propose to relocate is on the northern end of our floating docks at the
forklift launch area. The relocation will be from its existing spot to 7.5 feet to the north.
This relocation will align this finger pier with the floating dock at the launch area
allowing ease of movement of boats being launched and retrieved. There will be no
addition to the dock, just relocating the existing finger pier.
Please refer to the included map showing the locations and measurements discussed
above.
