O'Quinn Attorney At Law 530 Causeway Drive Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480 Dear Bob: Thank you for your quick response to my letter on Tuesday and also your triggering a timely call from Charles Duncan. He visited my house on Tuesday afternoon with a drawing of the proposal as well as a riparian survey. Based upon the drawing presented to me with the 15' setback noted from the extended property line of my property, I have no objection to the location of the gazebo and float as drawn. Charles told me that the surveyor's new stakes at the bulkhead with pink ribbons attached signified the property line which would be used for determining the setbacks_ Confirming your statement to me, he said the floating dock would be 12 feet short of the pier headline. Actually, I was surprised when I learned that Stuart planned to move the existing gazebo rather than construct a new one. For some reason I had always thought that permits for new construction required new materials. Charles said that this was only true for pilings and materials in the water. So, I assume the float will be of new material along with the pilings. Charles said that only Percy Smith and I as property owners needed to express our approval of the project ... and that he had already received verbal agreement from Percy. Having not communicated with Percy about this project, I may send him a copy of this letter expressing my concurrence based upon the 15' setback from the designated stakes. Again, thanks for expediting this matter while I am at the beach.
