KETCH (SCALE: ZZ_ 4 1z CAROLINA MARINE CONSTRUCTION, INC. 6400-8 Carolina Beach Rd #212 Wilmington, NC 28412 910-793-4143 November 18, 2014 To: DENR Attn: Robb Mairs RE: Weeks Project 408 North Channel Drive Robb, As per our conversation concerning this project, we would like to request an exemption permit to repair the raised sundeck and a general permit to install a new boat lift in the existing boat lift location for Lisa Weeks, 408 North Channel Drive. The existing lift is located between the floating dock and the sundeck, and is attached to the sundeck. This attachment has caused an inordinate amount of load on the sundeck, causing it to have a significant lean. We are proposing to remove the existing lift and install a new 10k lb lift in the same location. The new lift will not be attached to the sundeck, removing the load causing damage. Once the load has been removed, we are proposing to remove the upper decking, framing and cross braces in order to straighten and level the main deck structure. The deck will then be reconstructed and reattached. It is estimated that approximately 30%— 35% of the structure will be removed/replaced. I have attached a drawing to show the proposed work. The entire project is estimated to only take a couple of weeks, weather permitting. Please feel free to call me anytime if you have questions or need anything else.
