Anthony Harris is requesting the installation of a boat lift and extension of existing
finger pier within an existing slip of the shared dock facility along the Cape Fear
River.
The requested boat lift is made up of four 10 inch pilings spaced apart at twelve
foot two inches by thirteen foot two inches measured outside to outside of the
pilings. The pilings will be driven into the bottom twelve to fourteen feet. Atop
these four pilings are two beams that house the electro mechanical lifting devices.
The lower section of the lift known as the cradle shall have two bunks that would
accommodate a single boat and two twelve inch by twelve foot walk boards.
Two of the four pilings will be used in double duty to support an existing pier
structure.
The construction is expected to take two days. The pilings are to be set with light
barge and the remaining work to be done by hand. The lift will pose no
environmental impact with the exception of shading an eight foot by twelve foot
section of water two hours a day. The pilings are expected to increase marine life
within a year by providing footing for oysters and barnacles and drawing in fishes

I need to know any proposed / anticipated changes to the dock and / or existing finger pier.
I also need to know what your proposed cost is to install the conduit that will be needed to house tl'
gauge wire that will be required; the conduit is something that we will be assessing for coverage by
Dock Association.

Sorry to be slow in getting back to you; we have had some dock committee members who have had
some pressing personal issues to deal with and getting approvals have been more problematic than
usual!
It is a go for the boat lift per the Dock Committee, and you also have approval to install the conduit for
the quoted price of $1,038.15. That work should be billed via invoice to the Shipwatch Village HOA, PO
Box 15617, Wilmington, NC 28408 OR you can give it directly to me.
