RE: Emergency CAMA General Permit 1700 for Sand Bag Revetment Located Next to Your
Property in North Topsail Beach
Dear Mr. Greene:
This letter is to inform you of our request for issuance of an emergency permit to address accelerate(
erosion occurring adjacent to our parking lot at the north end of Town, Onslow County Access #1.
The lot is located adjacent to property situated at the mouth of the New River inlet.
Your property:

Property Address: 3946 RIVER RD
With accelerated erosion evident (see photos in Attachment 1) in this vicinity, which is located in Rive
Road right-of-way, River road and buildings along River road are threatened with destruction, absen
action by the Town.
The action proposed by the Town can best be described as constructing, in the vicinity shown it
Attachment 2 a three stack sand bag revetment, 6' x 20' by 330' (see attachment 3).
If we do not move swiftly, the next strong tide will result in flooding down River Road, including the
building structures on the Road.
