It is c erstanding that a bulkhead can have negative affects on, and can accelerate erosion of, neighboring properties lot at 100 Mainsail Drive). re is very little wave action on Fullard Creek (in fact, no wave action most of the time). In the 11 years that we ied our home, we have noticed little or no erosion of the shoreline -- mainly because of the natural vegetation :e, including marsh grasses and trees. feel that a bulkhead is not only unnecessary, but fear that it will negatively impact both our property, and the ural beauty and buffer of the shoreline. If the bulkhead is permitted, it might ultimately force us to construct a <head as well - simply to protect our property, which would truly be a sad shame. 3 parenthetical note, it is my belief that the bulkhead is also prohibited by the neighborhood restrictive covenar I, as advised, I have filed a separate concern with the POA. ink you for your assistance on this. Division of Coastal Management on September 29, 2015, regarding your concerns about the proposed development by David Sasser, at property located at 102 and 104 Mainsail Drive, in Sneads Ferry, NC, adjacent to the Chadwick Bay. The project consists of the construction of a shoreline protection structure as well as an access pier and docking facility. The project has been determined to comply with the Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission (O7H .1100) — General Permit for Construction of Bulkheads and Riprap Revetments for Shoreline Protection in Estuarine and Public Trust Waters and Ocean Hazard Areas, (7H.1200) — General Permit for Construction of Piers and Docking Facilities, and as such, a permit has been issued to authorize the development. I have enclosed a copy of the permit, as well as, the relevant statutes. If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit, you may file a request for a Third Party Appeal. The Chairman of the Coastal Resources Commission will consider each case and determine whether to grant your request to file for a Contested Case Hearing. The hearing request must be filed with the Director, Division of Coastal Management, in writing and must be received within twenty (20) days of the permit decision. I have enclosed the applicable forms and instructions that must be filed prior to that deadline.
