On behalf of the property owner, we are requesting a permit to repair the dune along the
Jinx Creek Shoreline located at Lot 9 Palm Cove in Sunset Beach, Brunswick County, NC.
This work is requested in accordance with the Emergency General Permit that was
activated on October 8, 2015. The source of the material for the dune reconstruction is
beach compatible sand from the Wilson Pit.

Dear Mr. Jackson:
As requested, ECS Carolinas, LLP (ECS) has performed the laboratory testing on 2
sand samples from the lots at Palm Cove in Sunset Beach project. Three samples from
the Wilson pit were also given to ECS for testing.
The samples were tested in accordance with test procedure ASTM D-422 entitled
"Particle -Size Analysis of Soils." A visual estimate of Munsell Color was also determined
for each sand sample. The particle size distribution reports for each sample are
attached.
