NARRATIVE
Robb:
As per our previous conversation and meeting, we are proposing to repair portions of both floating dock
sections and (1) portion of the stationary pier as per attached drawing. The floating docks and pier have
existed since the 1950's and have suffered decades of abuse from not only passing storms but passing
vessels as well. The sections of the (2) floating docks toward the channel have taken the most damage
and are in need of repair / replacement. The flotation has become saturated and is starting to separate
from the dock. The bands have split and/or cracked in multiple places and have been reattached so
many times that there isn't anything solid to currently reattach to. We are proposing to replace the (2)
6' x 56' floating dock sections as per plans. The south dock has a total of 712 sq. ft. currently existing.
The (1) 6'x 56' floating dock on that side totals 336 sq. ft. The north side dock totals 875 sq. ft. We are
proposing to replace 336 sq. ft. (6' x 56'). Both sections of dock that we are proposing to replace are
less than 50% of the currently existing structure. There is also a total of 43 piles associated with the (2)
floating dock structures. We would like to replace 16 —18 of those piles, which are less than 50% of
currently existing structure.
The section of stationary pier we are proposing to repair / replace is the 9' x 15' and 12' x 13' covered
section before the gazebo on the terminating end of stationary pier. The total square feet of the pier is
1475 sq. ft. with a total of (62) support piles. We are proposing to replace 291 sq. ft. (9' x 15' and
13' x 12') with a total of (12) support piles.
