Re: Town of Wrightsville Beach General Permit for restoration activities at the Arrindale
Street End
Dear Adjacent Property Owner:
The Town of Wrightsville Beach is planning on conducting repair and restoration activities at
the Arrindale Street End following the water main break that occurred several weeks ago. The
water main break was the result of an NCDOT stormwater outfall box that collapsed onto the
Town's waterline during a heavy rain event. The Town has requested a General Permit from the
North Carolina Division of Coastal Management to restore areas that were impacted by the
discharge of water from the ruptured water main. The Town is proposing the following
activities at the Arrindale Street End located immediately to the west of Waynick Boulevard:
• Install a 4-foot-wide x 22-foot-long section or rip -rap for shoreline stabilization
• Plant vegetation to stabilize area
• Install rip -rap around the damaged stormwater outfall pipe and make repairs to the pipe
if necessary
• Re -install barrier fence along Waynick to prevent unauthorized vehicle access to the
street end
Attached to this correspondence is a site plan that depicts the abovementioned restoration
activities that are planned by the Town. Please complete the attached adjacent property owner
