Re: Application for General Permit 0.1000, 201 Gooseneck Road, Rocky Point (Mr. Marty Schecter),
Lot 7 Swann Plantation, NE Cape Fear River, Pender County
Dear Tara,
On behalf of Mr. Marty Schecter, please find enclosed a CAMA General Permit application for construction
of a single family residential dock at 201 Gooseneck Road, Rocky Point. The property abuts the NE Cape Fear River
and associated swamp forest wetland located within the floodplain of the river. Land Management Group (LMG)
delineated the wetland limit which was field -approved by the Army Corps of Engineers.
The applicant proposes a six (6) foot wide, elevated pier which would span approximately 426' linear feet
from the "404 wetland" limit to normal high water (NHW). The fixed pier would extend another 26' from NHW to the
proposed dock structures. Proposed dock structures include: (1) a 10' x 12' fixed gazebo, (2) a 6' x 6' ramp
platform, (3) a 6' x 50' floating dock, (4) two boat lifts 12.5' x 12.5', and (5) two piling -supported roofs over the boat
slips each 14' x 28' in size.
Water depths within the proposed slips were obtained by the applicant and range between-4' and -8' NLW.
No dredging is required. Total linear footage of shoreline along NHW is 114 feet. The width of the river at this
location is mapped to be 653' and the dock structures would extend no more than 92' beyond the NHW/shoreline. All
proposed structures will be approximately 233' from the federal channel's structure setback.
Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thank you for your assistance with this
application.
Sincerely,
Laura Stasavich
