Enclosed is a copy of all correspondence I received from
Boatzright, Inc., agent for Nancy Jones. I have a possible
objection to this CAMA notification, which I received on
February 17, 2016.
It appears that the existing boat lift and floating dock may not
be inside the riparian set back as asserted in the this
correspondence.
I have mailed this information to you at the address listed on
the Adjacent Riparian Property Owner Statement, rather than
the return envelope provided to me addressed to Boatzright, Inc.

This letter is in response to your correspondence received by the N.C. Division of
Coastal Management on February 24, 2016, regarding your concerns about the proposed
development by Ms. Nancy Jones c/o Mr. Hobie Buffington at 8140 Bald Eagle Lane, adjacent
to the AIWW/Middle Sound, near Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina. The project
consists of replacing a damaged floating dock and boatlift at an existing private docking facility.
Based on a site visit by staff with our office and review of the provided drawings provided
by the applicant's authorized agent, the construction/replacement of the existing floating dock
and boatlift at this existing private docking facility has been determined to comply with the
current Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission (07H.1200)-General Permit for
construction of piers, docks, and boat houses in the Estuarine Shoreline AEC, and as such, a
permit has been issued to authorize the development. I have enclosed a copy of the permit, as
well as, the relevant statutes.
If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit, you may file a request for a Third
Party Appeal. The Chairman of the Coastal Resources Commission will consider each case and
determine whether to grant your request to file for a Contested Case Hearing. The hearing
request must be filed with the Director of the Division of Coastal Management, in writing and
must be received within twenty (20) days of the disputed permit decision. I have enclosed the
applicable forms and instructions that must be filed prior to that deadline. Please contact me at
