Wilmington, NC 28403 910-799-9245, cell 910-228-2484 January 2, 2019 Ms. Tara MacPherson NCDEQ CAMA 127 Cardinal Drive Extension Wilmington, NC 28405 Bald Head Island Limited, LLC has asked me to submit for a Repair Exemption to CAMA 41-85 for their Indigo Plantation Marina concrete sheet pile bulkhead at D-Dock near slip D1. I am submitting 5 color copies 11 "xl7" of my drawing C1, seal date 1-2-19 in support of this project. Per my last year e-mail to you, on December 26, 2018 Bald Head Island Limited marina employees observed sudden failure condition and noted a waterline leaking from a City of Southport waterline appx 20' landward and parallel of the bulkhead failure area. I made a site visit this morning, and have included photos of the present conditions. This is another "Yikes" situation. There is now a very distinct failure escarpment of about 4' depth. Broken asphalt can be seen in some of the photos. There are no wetlands in the repair area. Because of bulging bulkhead, the 50' of failed bulkhead may need to be a 120+/- If bulkhead replacement all of the way to the old ferry terminal landing. Please let me know if you need more information. Bruce Marek, P.E.
