Objections to Proposal at 6630 Kings Lynn Drive, Oak Island
All the proposed work should be considered replacement subject to current CRC
rules.
Boat Lift
In order for the boat lift to become operational more than 50 percent of the
structural components must be rebuilt. This disqualifies any claim of repair or
"grandfathering" of the structure. The proposed work should be considered
"replacement" subject to current CRC rules. The proposal shows the boat lift in
the 15' setback area of the riparian corridor requiring a waiver from the adjacent
property owner. We do not wish to waive the 15' setback requirement.
Fixed Pier
The proposal for the fixed pier enlarges the existing structure almost doubling the
total square footage. I'm assuming all the pilings on the West side of the structure
will require replacement in order to accommodate the new 6' deck boards which
will replace the 3' deck boards which currently exist. This disqualifies any claim
of repair or "grandfathering" of the structure. The proposed work should be
considered replacement subject to current CRC rules.

I'm sending the 7-signed forms overnight since we received the certified letter so close to the 10 day response
requirement.
The postmark on the certified letter we received was Sept. 18, 2019. We were on vacation and did not pickup
the letter until 9/24/2019.
Attached are the forms. I initialed that I have objections to the proposal for several reasons. The riparian line is
not shown on the documentation and I would like an updated document showing the riparian line. Construction
of the house is already underway and is not even close to the location shown in the drawing. The pool shown in
the drawing is not the same as the pool which is staked out on the property. The pool staked out on the property
is a very long lap pool which leads me to believe the concrete around the pool will significantly exceed the 644
sq. feet suggested in the document.
I hope you will require an updated document from the builder which reflects what they are actually doing rather
than an older document from which they were applying for CAMA approvals.
Is there a time we can meet next week. I live in Greensboro but will be in Oak Island from September 30 thru
October 3rd. I'd be happy to meet you in Wilmington if you have some time.
